The landmark event marks 100 years of the Union Public Service Commission, which was established on October 1, 1926, and later became a constitutional body under the Constitution of India.
PM Modi will release a UPSC Centenary Commemorative Coin, a commemorative stamp and a book titled 100 Landmark Judgements – Shaping the Policies of UPSC and Public Service Commissions in India.
The two-day celebrations began on September 30 with 'Shatabdi Samaroh – Manthan', featuring expert addresses and panel discussions on public service and recruitment.
The UPSC conducts recruitment examinations for several Union services, including the Civil Services Examination, Engineering Services, Combined Defence Services, NDA and Naval Academy, Combined Medical Services and CAPF.
