Supreme Court takes suo motu cognisance of matter regarding access to life-saving medicines

The Supreme Court on Friday (July 17, 2026) took suo motu cognisance of a case regarding access to life-saving medicines. The matter started after a Kerala woman challenged high cancer drug prices. She died, but the court now wants the Kerala High Court to ensure a quick disposal of this issue.
