Police are 'doxing' suspects on social media—and the Supreme Court just stepped in to stop it.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought responses from the Centre, states, and tech giants X and Meta regarding a petition against police social media posts. The plea claims police often reveal identities of accused persons and show them being treated in dehumanising ways. CJI Kant said, "a regulatory regime has to be there."
