Nearly 97,000 Flood-Hit Families Get Rs 15,000 Each In Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said 96,842 flood-affected families received Rs 15,000 each as financial aid. The government spent Rs 146.26 crore so far. "We want the affected families to have some cash in hand when they return home," Sarma said. Officials started a survey to assess further damage.
