Ganga rises in Varanasi, ghats marooned as administration steps up flood preparations

The Ganga continued to rise in Varanasi on Sunday, leaving several ghats marooned and forcing boats to be anchored. The district administration set up 61 relief camps and 21 flood posts to ensure safety. "Daily necessities will be supplied as required," said district magistrate Satyendra Kumar, as many locals moved.
