"At Variance With Facts": India Rejects Ex-Minister's Bullet Train Remarks

India on Friday dismissed criticism from former Japanese minister Hideki Makihara regarding the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "It is an individual opinion and at considerable variance with facts." India confirmed that construction work progressed rapidly and the first section will open in 2027 as planned.
