Polycab India Limited has announced that the National Company Law Tribunal, Ahmedabad Bench, has admitted an insolvency petition against the company. The order was delivered in Company Petition C.P. (IB) No. 273/9/AHM/2026, filed by Asier Metals Private Limited under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The petition seeks to initiate the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process against Polycab India Limited over an alleged operational debt of Rs 2.79 crore.

Tata Power partners Ocean Sun on floating solar

Tata Power on Wednesday said it has partnered with Norway's Ocean Sun to bring innovative membrane-based floating solar technology to India. The collaboration agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2nd India-EFTA Prosperity Summit, reinforcing the growing India-Norway and India-EFTA partnership in technology, innovation and clean energy, a company statement said.

Tata Steel reports higher Q2 production

Tata Steel Limited has announced its provisional production and delivery volumes for the second quarter and first half of FY2027. During the second quarter of FY2027, Tata Steel India-which includes Tata Steel Standalone and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd on a pro forma basis- achieved a crude steel production volume of 6.21 million tonnes. This represents an 8 per cent quarter-on-quarter increase and a 10 per cent year-on-year rise, driven primarily by higher output at the company's Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar facilities. In the first half of FY2027, India crude steel production grew 10 per cent year-on-year to 11.97 million tonnes.

Airtel raises postpaid tariffs

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has raised its postpaid tariffs across the board by Rs 50, with a revamped set of plans that bundle one free international roaming trip every year. The new plans come into effect on October 8, 2026, and existing postpaid subscribers will be moved to the nearest higher plan within a month, company sources told PTI on Wednesday. In effect, the revamped plans translate into a Rs 50 hike over current postpaid tariffs, and the increase ranges between 3-11 per cent.

MRF gets relief on tax demand

MRF Ltd has received a significant reduction in a tax demand related to ongoing material litigation concerning Central Sales Tax (CST) assessments for the financial year 2014-15. In a recent rectification order, the tax has been slashed to Rs 36.19 crore from Rs 91.53 crore.

Ola Electric finalises rights issue

Ola Electric Mobility has finalised the detailed structure and schedule for its proposed capital raising initiative, approving the issuance of partly paid-up equity shares worth up to Rs 1,000 crore via a rights issue. Under the approved terms, the company plans to offer 37,02,72,665 partly paid-up equity shares of face value Rs 10 each, aggregating to Rs 9,99,73,61,955, assuming full subscription and subsequent realisation of call monies. The issue price is fixed at Rs 27 per rights equity share, including a premium of Rs 17 per share. The payment structure is split into two instalments. Ola Electric has fixed October 13 as the record date to identify eligible shareholders who will receive rights entitlements in the ratio of 2 rights equity shares for every 25 fully paid-up equity shares held as of the record date. The issue is likely to open on October 22.

FirstCry parent to sell Mush Textile stake

Brainbees Solutions Ltd, the parent company of FirstCry, has announced that its subsidiary, GlobalBees Brands Private Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to sell its entire 51.54 per cent equity stake in Mush Textile Private Limited for an aggregate consideration of Rs 5.68 crore. The stake is being acquired byNihar Gosalia, an existing shareholder and director of Mush, who will acquire a 13.45 per cent shareholding, and Vaishvik Brahmbhatt, who will acquire a 38.09 per cent stake.
