Shares of Orient Cables are set to make their debut on the BSE and NSE on Monday, October 5, with grey market trends indicating a strong listing. The IPO is currently commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of 45%, suggesting the stock could list at a significant premium to its issue price.

The Rs 552-crore Orient Cables IPO was a book-built issue comprising a fresh issue of 1.18 crore shares worth Rs 320 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 85.29 lakh shares worth Rs 232 crore.

The public issue opened for subscription on September 25, 2026, and closed on September 29. It was subscribed 97.28 times overall. The retail portion was subscribed 32.21 times, while the QIB (ex-anchor) and NII categories saw subscription of 192.68 times and 121.90 times, respectively.

The company had fixed the IPO price band at Rs 258-272 per share, with a lot size of 55 shares. At the upper end of the price band, retail investors were required to invest a minimum of Rs 14,960 for one lot.

The IPO allotment was finalised on September 30, and the shares are scheduled to list on both the NSE and BSE on October 5, 2026.

IIFL Capital Services Ltd. and JM Financial Ltd. are the book-running lead managers to the issue, while KFin Technologies Ltd. is the registrar.

Orient Cables IPO GMP TodayThe grey market premium (GMP) for the Orient Cables IPO stands at Rs 121 per share, representing a premium of around 45% over the upper end of the issue price band of Rs 272. At the current GMP, the estimated listing price works out to approximately Rs 393 per share. However, the GMP is an unofficial, unregulated market indicator and does not guarantee the actual listing price. It may fluctuate before the listing depending on prevailing market conditions and investor sentiment.

Orient Cables IPO: Objects of the IssueThe Orient Cables (India) IPO plans to use the net proceeds to fund its capital expenditure requirements, including purchasing machinery and equipment and civil works at its manufacturing facilities. Around Rs 91.50 crore has been earmarked for this purpose.

The company also proposes to utilise Rs 155.50 crore towards the repayment or prepayment of certain outstanding borrowings, either fully or partially. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Financial PerformanceOrient Cables (India) Ltd.'s total income increased 42% to Rs 1,182 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 832 crore in FY25. Meanwhile, profit after tax (PAT) remained largely stable at Rs 54 crore, versus Rs 53 crore in the previous financial year.
