India’s CAD widens to $4.2 billion in Q1FY27 from $3.4 billion in Q1FY26
India’s current account deficit widened to $4.2 billion in Q1FY27 from $3.4 billion in Q1FY26. Higher merchandise trade costs caused this rise, though net services receipts grew. Aditi Nayar said, “The CAD was contained at a comfortable 0.5 per cent of GDP in the quarter, in spite of the ongoing challenges.”
