Geojit Financial Services announced that Jones George will take over as Managing Director from October 1, 2026. Founder C.J. George will move to the role of Executive Chairman. The company said the leadership change was a natural progression in the company's journey as it prepares for its next growth phase.

Geojit Financial Services is set for a leadership transition, with founder C.J. George moving to the role of Executive Chairman and Jones George taking over as Managing Director from October 1, 2026.

The appointments, approved by the company's Board on July 22 on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, are part of Geojit's long-term succession plan.

C. J. George, who currently serves as Chairman and Managing Director, founded Geojit in 1987 along with Ranajit Kanjilal.

Jones George, currently Executive Director, has been associated with Geojit since 2013, when he joined as Manager - Digital Media Specialist. He became Chief Digital Officer in 2018 and was appointed Executive Director in 2021.

In his current role, Jones George oversees strategic initiatives, digital transformation, overseas NRI business functions and operations. The company said he has played a key role in its digital transformation and customer engagement initiatives.

The leadership transition comes as Geojit prepares for its next phase of growth while seeking to build on the foundation established under C. J. George.

Commenting on the transition, C. J. George said the leadership change was a natural progression in the company's journey and expressed confidence that Jones George would bring a fresh perspective while remaining anchored in Geojit's values.

Jones George said the company's focus going ahead would be on becoming more agile and technology-led, while continuing to maintain its physical presence and strengthen customer relationships.

Geojit Financial Services has over 16.96 lakh clients, a network of 525 offices and manages customer assets worth Rs 1,11,000 crore, according to the company. BNP Paribas and Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) are promoters.

Geojit Financial Services shares ended Wednesday's trading session at Rs 76.59 apiece, down 0.22% from the previous close of Rs 76.76.

The stock traded in the range of Rs 76.10 to Rs 78.29 during the session. The company had a market capitalization of Rs 2,137.80 crore on the BSE.

On a year-to-date basis, the stock has gained 3.05%.
