Geojit Financial Services Limited on Wednesday announced a leadership transition, appointing founder C J George as Executive Chairman and Jones George as Managing Director, effective October 1, 2026.

The change was approved by the company's Board of Directors on July 22, 2026, following a recommendation by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, as part of a long-term succession plan.

C J George, who currently serves as Chairman and Managing Director, founded Geojit in 1987 alongside Ranajit Kanjilal. Over nearly four decades, the Kerala-based firm built a significant presence in Indian capital markets, claiming several industry firsts including internet and mobile trading platforms, as well as the launch of commodity futures trading in bullion, pepper, and cardamom.

Jones George, who moves up from his current role as Executive Director, joined Geojit in 2013 as a digital media specialist. He was elevated to Chief Digital Officer in 2018 and Executive Director in 2021, leading the company's digital transformation and overseeing its overseas NRI business operations.

In his statement, C J George said he was confident Jones would bring fresh perspective while remaining anchored in the company's core values. Jones George indicated the company's focus going forward would be on agility, technology-led growth, and strengthening customer relationships while maintaining its nationwide physical presence.

Geojit is one of India's prominent retail broking and investment services firms.
