FIIs and retail investors raised stakes in 10 stocks, which rallied up to 35% in 3 months. Data from the June 2026 quarter showed that nearly 78 companies saw increased ownership from both groups. While many stocks stayed under pressure, these 10 shares got a boost since the beginning of July.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) are closely tracked by market participants, given their significant participation in Indian equities. Examining changes in FII shareholding can provide a view of how institutional ownership has changed across stocks. An analysis of BSE 500 stocks based on June 2026 quarter shareholding data showed that nearly 78 companies recorded an increase in ownership by both FIIs and retail investors (individual shareholders holding up to Rs 2 lakh in nominal share capital) compared with the previous quarter.
Despite the increase in ownership across both investor categories, most of these stocks declined or remained under pressure over the past three months, since the beginning of July. However, 10 stocks recorded gains of between 10% and 35% during the three-month period. (Data Source: ACE Equity)
