India retained the first rank in July among emerging market peers as the stock market posted gains. Foreign portfolio inflows reached ₹20,200 crore, the first positive figure since February. While manufacturing activity weakened and inflation rose to 4.5%, the country’s overall economic activity remained strong with steady export growth.
