The All-India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF) has elected Nishesh Shah as Chairman and Bhavik Desai as Vice Chairman for 2026-27, with the new leadership focusing on value addition, sustainable sourcing and strengthening India's position in the global spice trade.
Nishesh Shah, Managing Partner of Kochi-based Universal Oleoresins, has more than two decades of experience in the spices industry, with a particular focus on value-added products. His company manufactures spice oils, oleoresins, natural colours and nutraceutical ingredients for food and flavour manufacturers across global markets. Universal Oleoresins also markets the consumer brand, Spice Drop.
As Chairman, Nishesh Shah is expected to focus on expanding India's role beyond that of a supplier of raw spices and strengthening the country's presence in higher-value segments of the international market.
Bhavik Desai
New Vice Chairman Bhavik Desai is Business Head at Jayanti Herbs & Spice and has more than 15 years of experience in the global herbs and spices business. His career has included assignments in India, Turkey, Switzerland and the UAE, covering sourcing, processing, international trade, supply chains and customer relationships.
Established in 1987, AISEF represents Indian spice exporters and works with government agencies, regulators, farmers and international trade partners on market access, food safety, regulatory compliance and sustainability.
