This Finnish facility can store spent nuclear fuel for 100,000-years

Finland is set to be the first country to permanently store spent nuclear fuel underground at its Onkalo facility. Located 433 meters deep, it can hold 6,500 tons of waste for 100,000 years. The Finnish regulator's assessment is expected this month, with operations possibly starting late this year.
