Nepal warns of more possible floods as communities grapple with devastation

Authorities in Nepal warned of fresh flooding on Sunday, August 30, 2026, after water levels rose in the Bhotekoshi River. The combined death toll reached 750 across Nepal and Tibet. Local resident Govind Shreshta said, “Sometimes they say a flood is coming, then we have to run again to higher ground.”
