Nepal must make climate justice top national priority, says Environment Minister

Nepal’s Forestry and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary said on September 1, 2026, that climate justice must become a top national priority. Her call followed flash floods that killed 1,000 people. She said, “Unless we can present this agenda as our right and our claim, we cannot give it the priority.”
