Karnataka CM D K Shivakumar wrote to PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday, urging a central team to assess the state’s worsening monsoon. Karnataka recorded a 30% rainfall deficit by July 11. Shivakumar said, "Timely intervention by the Centre would strengthen the state's efforts to mitigate the impact of the emerging drought."
