DGC member quits over highways, embankments on Gomti floodplain

Professor Venkatesh Dutta resigned from the District Ganga Committee to protest the destruction of Gomti floodplains. He said the committee ignored his objections regarding the Green Corridor project. Dutta argued that the river needs protection from highways and embankments, noting that many drains still dump untreated sewage into the water.
