BMC's new plant to filter filthy water for reuse, generate manure

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation commissioned a 30-kilolitre-per-day leachate treatment plant at its Temporary Transit Station. This facility filters filthy water for reuse in gardening and converts sludge into manure. "The stabilised sludge, once dried, will serve as compost or soil conditioner for horticultural use," said deputy commissioner N Ganesh Babu.
