NEW DELHI: The IMD has forecast rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across several parts of the states while Delhi and neighbouring areas may experience thunderstorms and winds reaching 50 kmph, parts of southern India are likely to see gusty winds reaching 60 kmph. Heatwave conditions are also expected to persist in isolated parts of Maharashtra’s coastal belt.
Delhi weather tomorrow
The IMD has forecast rainfall in several parts of Delhi on Sunday, along with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph in some areas. According to the weather department, a western disturbance over north Pakistan and its neighbouring areas, along with an upper-air cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining northwestern Uttar Pradesh, is likely to influence weather conditions in Delhi and nearby states.
West Bengal weather tomorrow
Parts of south Bengal, including Kolkata, may experience rain during the initial days of the five-day Durga Puja festival. The IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall at a few places from October 15 to 17, with Shashthi, the opening day of the festival, falling on October 17. Light rain or thundershowers are likely at one or two places in south Bengal on Saptami and Ashtami, October 18 and 19, respectively. Mainly dry weather is expected across south Bengal on Navami and Dashami, October 20 and 21.
Maharashtra weather tomorrow
The IMD has issued a heatwave warning for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Maharashtra’s coastal Konkan belt until October 12. Heatwave conditions are likely at isolated places in districts of south Konkan, while hot and humid conditions may prevail at isolated places in north Konkan, according to the IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre. The weather is expected to normalise on Sunday, October 11, and Monday, October 12, with green warnings, indicating that no adverse weather action is required, returning across Maharashtra. Maximum temperatures are likely to rise gradually by 2-3 degrees Celsius in some parts of the state over the next 48 hours, followed by a further increase of 1-3 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius in parts of interior Maharashtra on October 10. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region is an urban agglomeration spread across nine municipal corporations in Mumbai and the adjoining districts of Thane, Palghar and Raigad.
Jharkhand weather tomorrow
The southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from Jharkhand over the next four days, as the state has recorded a rainfall deficit of 2%, according to the IMD. The monsoon has already withdrawn from northwestern districts and parts of central Jharkhand, including Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Koderma.
Uttar Pradesh weather tomorrow
