Zohran Mamdani's grandma Praveen Nair, inspiration behind viral rap dies at 94

Praveen Nair, the grandmother of New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, died at 94. She was a noted social worker and co-founder of the Salaam Baalak Trust. Mamdani, who makes music as Mr Cardamom, released his viral rap song Nani in 2019 to celebrate their close bond and her personality.
