Karan Kapadia, the director of the recently released JioHotstar show, Hunkkaar, has known Ranveer Singh for many years. The new dad in town, who has a busy personal and professional schedule now, attended the series’ premiere in Mumbai. Cheering for Kapadia and Nitya Mehra, the co-director of Hunkkaar, Singh was seen interacting with Aneet Padda, who is one of the two protagonists. The internet immediately wanted them as a fresh Bollywood on-screen pair. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Karan revealed whether he plans to direct Ranveer and Aneet in his film.

Amid Hunkkaar’s success, Karan spoke to Zoom exclusively. Reacting to whether fans would get to see Ranveer and Aneet in his next film, Kapadia laughed and said, “We will see. They’re extremely talented, and I would love to see them in a film together. It depends on the subject matter, and if the script suits them, I will definitely approach them. If they like the script, then I would love to direct them.”

He further recalled Ranveer’s reaction after watching Hunkkaar. The director said, “The amount of love and support he has given me every day is unprecedented. We’re friends and have supported each other in everything we do. He is super proud and is ecstatic about the reception we got for Hunkkaar. He was blown away by the show, its craft, and cinematic quality. He also talked to me about the messaging of the show and its relevance. It is transcending cinema and actors appreciating it is the biggest joy anyone can have.”

Hunkkaar is set in a fictional small town, Kharganj, in Madhya Pradesh. The story is about 17-year-old Meenu Rawat (Aneet Padda), who accuses a powerful spiritual leader of sexual assault. She gets entangled in a struggle that changes an entire community’s perception of her. From battling judgment to standing firm in her statement against Baap Ji (Raghubir Yadav). With ACP Jasleen Soni (Fatima Sana Shaikh) investigating the case, she refuses to fear public scrutiny and bullying.
