OTT releases October 12-17 include Koffee With Karan 9, Tyson, VisionQuest, The Diplomat 4, Disclosure Day, Crystal Lake, Tenzing and more.
The third week of October arrives with a streaming slate that ricochets from Bollywood gossip and heavyweight boxing history to synthetic superheroes, political brinkmanship, true crime and psychological horror. Koffee With Karan returns for its ninth and final season, bringing Karan Johar’s 22-year run on the celebrity couch to a close with a Bollywood-only guest list. Tyson, meanwhile, looks beyond Mike Tyson’s fearsome public persona to revisit a life shaped by extraordinary sporting triumphs and equally spectacular personal collapses.
Marvel’s VisionQuest brings Paul Bettany’s White Vision back as he attempts to reconstruct his identity, with James Spader returning as Ultron, while The Diplomat enters a new political order with Allison Janney’s Grace Penn in the Oval Office. The week also has Steven Spielberg chasing extraterrestrial secrets in Disclosure Day, Linda Cardellini tracing Pamela Voorhees’ descent in Crystal Lake, and Tenzing Norgay finally taking centre stage in Tenzing. Here is the complete OTT lineup arriving between October 12 and October 17.
Koffee With Karan Season 9 – JioHotstar, October 14
After more than two decades of rapid-fire rounds, celebrity confessions, awkward revelations and conversations that routinely escaped the couch to dominate entertainment headlines, Koffee With Karan is preparing to pour its final cup.
Karan Johar returns to host the ninth and final season of the celebrity talk show, bringing its 22-year journey to an official close. The guest list remains under wraps, but Johar has indicated that the farewell edition will concentrate exclusively on prominent Bollywood personalities.
There is also one notable change to the show’s familiar guest pool: cricketers will not appear this season. That leaves the final run firmly embedded in the film industry, with another round of conversations, games, rapid-fire questions and spontaneous disclosures expected from stars who have often shared a long professional or personal history with Johar himself.
For a show that has spent years turning apparently casual couch conversations into pop-culture talking points, the farewell season carries the additional curiosity of who will get the final invitations and how the series chooses to sign off.
Tyson – Netflix, October 13
Mike Tyson’s life has rarely lacked spectacle. The four-part documentary series attempts to look beyond it.
Tyson charts the extraordinary ascent of a young fighter who became heavyweight champion and one of the most intimidating athletes on the planet, before his life outside the ring became as intensely scrutinised as anything he did inside it.
The series revisits the triumphs alongside the darkest periods of Tyson’s life, including incarceration, substance abuse and financial collapse. Rather than separating the sporting legend from the deeply controversial man behind it, the documentary places those contradictions beside one another.
Tyson himself participates extensively, reflecting on the decisions, excesses and personal demons that accompanied his transformation from boxing phenomenon into a global cultural figure. The result is positioned less as a victory-lap sports documentary than an examination of what happened when fame, violence, wealth and self-destruction converged around one extraordinarily complicated life.
VisionQuest – JioHotstar, October 14
The television story that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along reaches its third chapter with Paul Bettany’s Vision finally taking centre stage.
The Vision at the heart of this series, however, is not quite the one audiences once knew. White Vision possesses enormous power and fragments of his former memories, but remains disconnected from the emotional identity those memories once belonged to.
His attempt to understand who, or what, he is forms the core of VisionQuest. As pieces of his previous existence return, the synthetic hero must determine whether possessing Vision’s memories actually makes him Vision.
Complicating that journey is the return of James Spader as Ultron. This time, the old adversary manifests in human form within Vision’s own consciousness, turning the search for identity into an internal confrontation with one of the darkest figures in his history.
The Diplomat Season 4 – Netflix, October 15
The political chessboard has changed dramatically by the time Kate Wyler returns for the fourth season of The Diplomat.
Keri Russell reprises her role as the United States Ambassador navigating an increasingly unstable web of international relationships. Allison Janney’s Grace Penn now occupies the Oval Office as President, creating a fundamentally different power structure around Kate and the foreign-policy crises demanding her attention.
Across London and Washington, shifting alliances and delicate negotiations threaten to become full-blown geopolitical emergencies. The question is rarely simply what the United States should do, but which compromises, secrets and personal relationships will determine what it actually does.
Rufus Sewell also returns as Hal Wyler, ensuring Kate’s turbulent marriage remains entangled with her professional responsibilities. As ever, diplomatic catastrophe and marital catastrophe are rarely courteous enough to arrive separately.
Disclosure Day – JioHotstar, October 12
Steven Spielberg returns to extraterrestrial territory with this science-fiction thriller written by longtime collaborator David Koepp.
Emily Blunt plays a television meteorologist who unexpectedly discovers evidence pointing towards a classified government operation concealing the existence of extraterrestrial life on Earth.
Rather than dismiss what she has found, she joins forces with a cybersecurity expert played by Josh O’Connor. Together, they attempt to authenticate and expose the information before those responsible for keeping it secret can erase both the evidence and the people who uncovered it.
Their investigation develops into a race against an apparatus with considerably greater resources than either of them, turning the question of whether humanity is alone into something almost secondary to who has known the answer all along. Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Wyatt Russell round out the ensemble.
Crystal Lake – JioHotstar, October 15
Before Jason Voorhees became synonymous with hockey masks and summer-camp slaughter, there was Pamela Voorhees.
A24’s Friday the 13th prequel moves the franchise to television and places Jason’s mother at the centre of the story. Linda Cardellini plays Pamela one year after her young son’s drowning, when grief has begun transforming into something much darker.
Rather than simply revisiting the killings associated with the original film, Crystal Lake explores the woman behind them and the psychological deterioration that follows Jason’s death.
The series also digs into the origins of the infamous camp itself, allowing the familiar mythology to be reconstructed from Pamela’s perspective. Knowing where the story eventually leads only makes her descent more ominous.
Tenzing – Apple TV, October 16
The historic 1953 conquest of Mount Everest is retold with Tenzing Norgay placed where he belongs: at the centre of the story.
Directed by Jennifer Peedom and written by Luke Davies, the biographical drama stars Genden Phuntsok as Tenzing opposite Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary.
The film chronicles the punishing physical and logistical challenges that preceded their successful ascent, while shifting attention towards the Sherpa climbers and local guides whose contributions to Himalayan expeditions have too often been reduced to the margins of Western accounts.
Beyond the climb itself, Tenzing explores the cultural dynamics surrounding the expedition and the complicated distribution of recognition after one of mountaineering’s defining achievements. Willem Dafoe and Thinley Lhamo also feature in the ensemble.
The Trap – Netflix, October 13
For almost ten years, a successful writer has lived inside a prison of her own making.
Friederike Becht leads this German psychological thriller as a woman who stopped leaving her home after witnessing the brutal murder of her sister. Isolation has become both refuge and routine until she unexpectedly sees a man on television whom she believes is the killer.
The sighting destroys the fragile safety she has constructed.
Convinced she finally has a chance to confront the person responsible, she ventures outside and devises an elaborate plan to draw him towards her, deliberately turning herself into bait.
The Traitors Telugu – Prime Video, October 15
Trust becomes a liability when 20 contestants enter a royal palace for the Telugu adaptation of the international reality format.
Hidden among the group are contestants secretly designated as Traitors. Everyone else becomes a Faithful, although nobody knows for certain which category the people around them belong to.
Each night, the Traitors secretly eliminate one participant. During the day, the entire group attempts to identify and banish someone they believe is sabotaging the game.
That simple structure transforms every friendship into a possible deception. A convincing ally could be protecting you or quietly preparing your exit, while accusing the wrong person can strengthen the very players the Faithfuls are trying to remove. Alliances, bluffing and psychological manipulation determine who survives long enough to compete for the accumulated prize.
Moneytrap: The Karun Treasure – Netflix, October 16
Twenty years after the Organize Isler franchise began, Yilmaz Erdogan’s con artist Asim Noyan returns for an eight-episode crime-comedy adventure.
This time, the gang is drawn towards an ancient map allegedly leading to the legendary Karun treasure. Naturally, the prospect of one final enormous score proves impossible to resist.
Unfortunately, they are far from the only people looking for it.
Rival criminal factions and international treasure hunters descend on the same trail, transforming what should have been an elaborate heist into a sprawling competition of scams, double-crosses and high-speed pursuits.
Erdogan reprises his role as Asim alongside an ensemble that includes Kivanc Tatlitug, Ezgi Mola and Demet Akbag, expanding the cinematic franchise into a longer-form caper without abandoning its taste for elaborate criminal chaos.
Masterplan – Prime Video, October 16
Nothing repairs a dysfunctional family quite like attempting an enormous robbery together.
Stanley Tucci, Simona Tabasco and Victor Belmondo lead this Thomas Vincent-directed heist film about estranged relatives brought back into one another’s lives by the promise of an extraordinary score.
There is just one complication: they can barely tolerate being in the same room.
Executing the so-called heist of the century therefore requires more than defeating security systems and staying ahead of the authorities. The family must somehow coordinate long enough to complete the operation without allowing old grievances, competing agendas and mutual irritation to destroy the plan from within.
The caper uses the mechanics of a heist as a pressure cooker for a family reunion in which trust is already in dangerously short supply.
Hollywood Arts – Netflix, October 15
Trina Vega finally gets what she always believed she deserved: centre stage.
Daniella Monet reprises her Victorious role in this sitcom spin-off returning to the familiar performing-arts school with a new generation of ambitious students.
This time, Trina is no longer merely the spectacularly self-confident aspiring performer orbiting everyone else’s success. She has taken on an administrative position at Hollywood Arts, which means the woman once responsible for a considerable amount of chaos is now expected to manage it.
A fresh batch of students brings theatrical rivalries, adolescent disasters and competitive ambitions into the school, while Trina discovers that authority is considerably less glamorous when she is the person expected to solve everybody else’s problems.
Kappi Squad – JioHotstar, October 15
Four young adults with plenty of emotional baggage and considerably less business experience decide that opening a café is the obvious solution to their problems.
Rinosh George leads this Malayalam comedy-drama about friends attempting to turn an idea into a functioning hospitality business. Securing funding is difficult enough, but operating the café exposes every weakness they had previously managed to ignore.
Financial pressure collides with wounded pride, insecurity and shifting friendships as responsibilities begin changing the balance within the group.
The series uses the café as a window into the anxieties facing young adults trying to build unconventional careers, particularly when the freedom of rejecting a traditional corporate path comes without the financial security that path might have provided.
Aasha – ZEE5, October 16
Urvashi, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi lead this Malayalam psychological thriller about a secret that refuses to remain buried.
The story centres on a family whose carefully maintained equilibrium is disturbed when something from its past unexpectedly resurfaces.
What follows is an escalating chain of suspicion. Old relationships acquire new meanings, memories become unreliable and the people involved begin taking increasingly desperate measures to protect themselves from the consequences of the truth.
As the central investigation develops, Aasha turns its attention towards the long afterlife of trauma and the extraordinary lengths people can go to preserve reputations built upon events they would rather nobody remembered.
Hunting Gary Glitter – Netflix, October 14
This true-crime documentary series examines how fame and institutional failure allowed Gary Glitter’s sexual abuse of children to continue across years.
Rather than constructing its story around the disgraced former pop star’s celebrity, the documentary centres survivor accounts alongside the work of journalists and legal professionals who helped expose his crimes.
It traces how wealth, access and public status created opportunities for abuse while examining the media and institutional environments surrounding him.
The series consequently expands its focus beyond one offender to ask how warning signs were missed, ignored or inadequately acted upon, and how celebrity could operate as a shield long after serious allegations should have prompted greater scrutiny.
Love Is Blind Season 11 – Netflix, October 14
Thirty Boston singles enter the pods as Netflix’s dating experiment returns for its eleventh season.
The familiar premise remains intact: participants date without seeing each other and must decide whether an emotional connection is strong enough to justify an engagement before meeting face-to-face.
The controlled intimacy of the pods, however, is only the opening test.
Once newly engaged couples return to ordinary life, jobs, families, physical attraction, incompatible routines and outside opinions enter relationships that previously existed almost entirely through conversation.
Boston becomes the latest backdrop for the experiment as another group discovers that falling for a voice through a wall may be considerably easier than building a marriage once that wall disappears.
Helluva Boss Season 3 – Prime Video, October 13
The employees of I.M.P. return for another round of assassination assignments, underworld politics and spectacularly unhealthy relationships.
The adult animated comedy pushes Blitzo and his dysfunctional crew deeper into Hell’s social and political machinery while new missions expose them to increasingly dangerous corners of the underworld.
Professional chaos is only half their problem. Fractured relationships within the group continue deteriorating, forcing characters who are remarkably competent at killing strangers to confront their rather poorer record of communicating with people they care about.
The third season retains the show’s combination of violent comedy, musical sequences and emotional dysfunction, using demonic bureaucracy as the backdrop for characters who remain exceptionally talented at creating their own problems.
Love Of Your Life – Prime Video, October 13
Margaret Qualley and Gabriel Basso lead this romantic drama directed by Rachel Morrison about what remains of a relationship when the future two people meticulously imagined suddenly disappears.
Qualley plays Maya, whose life changes when she meets Charlie. Their relationship quickly becomes central to the future she envisions for herself, complete with plans that make permanence appear reassuringly attainable.
Then those plans are abruptly overturned.
Instead of treating romance as an inevitable route towards a tidy conclusion, the film follows Maya into the uncertainty that comes afterward. The story examines love not simply through falling for another person, but through the painful process of discovering who someone becomes when the life built around that love can no longer proceed as expected.
The Storm – Netflix, October 15
A birthday dinner at an isolated country estate becomes increasingly claustrophobic when severe weather traps the guests inside.
Swedish filmmaker Josephine Bornebusch writes, directs and stars in the drama, which begins with a group of close friends gathering for what should be a comfortable celebration.
The storm outside quickly makes leaving impossible. Then resources begin running low.
Physical confinement gives old grievances nowhere to escape. Polite conversation deteriorates, unresolved resentments resurface and relationships that seemed stable under ordinary circumstances begin buckling under pressure.
As conditions outside worsen, the danger inside becomes increasingly psychological, with the friends forced to confront exactly how much affection remains once comfort and civility have been stripped away.
Roadies Rebirth – JioHotstar, October 16
Roadies turns its own history into the competition as familiar gang leaders collide with a new generation.
Prince Narula, Neha Dhupia and Nikhil Chinapa represent the OG camp, while Abhishek Malhan, Bani J and Baseer Ali arrive as the NewG leaders.
That divide adds another layer to the show’s familiar mix of physical tasks, strategy, alliances and rivalry, with contestants also becoming extensions of a broader battle between established Roadies veterans and newer personalities.
Rannvijay Singha returns as host, mentor and ultimate authority, overseeing a season designed around the friction between the franchise’s old guard and those looking to redefine how the game is played.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus – Netflix, October 17
The early Dragon Ball Super storylines receive a streamlined reconstruction in this 19-episode project designed to move considerably faster than the original television run.
The series revisits the Beerus, Frieza Revival and Universe 6 Tournament arcs, removing narrative padding while incorporating reconstructed animation and newly produced footage from Toei Animation.
At the beginning stands Beerus, the God of Destruction, whose awakening and search for a worthy opponent brings him towards Goku and the fighters of Earth.
Masako Nozawa and Koichi Yamadera return as Goku and Beerus respectively. By condensing several major arcs into one event, the series offers longtime viewers a reworked version of familiar material while giving newcomers a shorter route into the modern Dragon Ball story
