North Korea Stories Get New Film Fund as Bearing North Launches

A new private grantmaking initiative called Bearing North launched in Los Angeles to fund films about North Korea. Founders Blaine and Esther Paik Vess will support independent filmmakers worldwide. Blaine Vess said, “Great filmmakers have the ability to show us something much harder to capture: how ordinary people live, hope, adapt, and endure.”
