This week promises plenty for South Indian cinema fans, with Mandaadi, Epic and Khalifa among the films arriving on OTT. Several much-awaited Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu movies are set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, JioHotstar, Manorama Max and Sun NXT, bringing a diverse mix of genres and stories to streaming audiences.

Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar

Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar is a Malayalam crime thriller centred on a group of police officers whose lives take an unexpected turn after a disturbing incident at a police station. What begins as an unusual case soon develops into a tense investigation, with the officers forced to confront fear, guilt and the consequences of hiding the truth. Parvathy Thiruvothu leads the cast, with Mathew Thomas, Unnimaya Prasad and Sidharth Bharathan in important roles. Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar will stream on Netflix from October 9, 2026, in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.

Mandaadi

Mandaadi is a Tamil sports action drama set against the backdrop of a coastal community where traditional sailboat racing is closely tied to local pride and long-standing rivalries. The story follows Kaali, played by Soori, a fisherman and racer who gets drawn into a conflict shaped by the community’s past. Written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the film marks Suhas’ Tamil debut, with the actor playing the antagonist. The Rs 150 crore earning film will premiere on Netflix on October 8, 2026, and will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

Epic – First Semester

Epic – First Semester is a Telugu romantic drama that follows a middle-class student who travels to London to pursue his education. His first semester abroad introduces him to new experiences and relationships, while also making him rethink his ambitions, identity and understanding of love. Directed by debutant Aditya Hasan, the film brings Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya together again after Baby. Epic – First Semester is set to arrive on Netflix on October 9, 2026, with Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi versions.

Khalifa

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa is heading to OTT with a six-platform release. Directed by Vysakh, the crime action thriller received a lukewarm response during its theatrical run and is now set to reach a wider audience digitally. The film will stream from October 9, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video, Aha, ManoramaMAX and Lionsgate Play in India, while overseas viewers can watch it on STARZPLAY and Simply South.

The film follows Aamir Ali, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran, a textile-shop owner who initially leads a quiet life away from his family’s criminal past. His father, Younus Ali, played by Renji Panicker, has deliberately stayed away from the underworld despite his family history. However, Aamir’s life changes when Younus is falsely implicated and arrested.
