The 52nd Tamil Isai Vizha ended at Rajah Muthiah Mandram with a traditional bharathanatyam performance by students and teachers of Rani Lady Meyyammai Tamilisai College. The group performed various classical pieces, including a Thillana. Principal Mallika said, "It was an opportunity for the students to have performed the debut on stage."

The final day of the 52nd Tamil Isai Vizha at the Rajah Muthiah Mandram witnessed a traditional bharathanatyam by the students and teachers of the Rani Lady Meyyammai Tamilisai College, Madurai.

The teachers viz Renganayaki, G Nandini and Sitalakshmi on vocal, B. Sachidanandam on the violin and H. Sitalakshmi on Nattuvangam, T. Gopinath on mridangam and Sivaroopan on the flute and khanjira, gave vocal and percussionist support. The bharathanatyam choreography and support was by Kalaichelvi and Muthuchelvan.

Worshipping Lord Ganesa with aindu karatanai, they began with a pushpanjali in Gambhiranattai. Next was "Vinayaka Unnai" in Ragam Gowlai, Talam Adi by Madurai Muralidharan. The jathiswaram, in Saveri ragam by Thanjai Nalwar witnessed exclusive musical notes (swaras) and rhythmic syllables (jatis).

The Kali Kauthuvam in Gowlai blended devotional lyrics with rhythmic syllables (sollukattus). The Parameswari Sabdam, in Ragamalika by Umabalakrishnan, set the tone of the program.

A detailed pada varnam by Muthuchelvam, Jayashree, Gnana Vishrutha and Vinodini for "ni inda mayam" by Papanasam Sivan in Dhanyasi ragam, exhibited their mastery over nritta (pure rhythm and footwork), nritya (expressive dance), and natya (dramatic storytelling), alongside rigorous physical stamina. The Nattuvangam was lively.

The tempo was maintained in the next pieces, " aadikondar" by muthuthandavar and " Azhagana pazhani malai" in brindavana saranga, by Vani, Rajesh Veerayya Mathushika, Reshmi and Hemapriya.

The students also performed Arunagirinathar's Tirupugazh in hamsanadam, in praise of Lord Murugan, " Neeyada nan aada" in khamas by Mangudi Durairaj Ayyar.

They concluded with a Thillana by Madurai Krishnan in Kapi, worshipping Lord Hanuman through " anda chara charasarangal".

The LED backdrop displaying the relevant God pertaining to the song/ kriti was a visual feast. It was an opportunity for the students to have performed the debut on stage, as informed by Principal Mallika.
