Tara Sutaria is reportedly being considered to play the lead role opposite Vicky Kaushal in Amar Kaushik’s upcoming mythological epic, Mahavatar. While her name came up, the makers have not finalised anyone yet. Shraddha Kapoor and Harnaaz Sandhu are also in talks for the project, which starts in January 2027.
Tara Sutaria has been waiting to deliver a hit for a long time. Her last film with Yash, Toxic – A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups failed miserably at the box office. Despite the film’s failure, Tara’s performance got noticed by many filmmakers. As per the latest report, the Student Of The Year 2 fame is reportedly being considered for the lead role opposite Vicky Kaushal in Amar Kaushik’s next mythological epic, Mahavatar. It has to be noted that she has not yet been finalised, for the same as Shraddha Kapoor and Harnaaz Sandhu are also in the talks to be a part of the ambitious project.
According to Mid-Day report, after Shraddha Kapoor and Harnaaz Sandhu were linked to the director Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar, Tara Sutaria’s name is now being considered for the role opposite Vicky Kaushal, who will be seen playing the role of Parashurama. Apart from Tara, several names have also been discussed for the role.
A source informed the portal, “The casting conversations around ‘Mahavatar’ have been fluid for some time. Several names have been discussed at different stages, and Tara’s name has certainly come up. But nothing has been locked at this point. The makers want to rope in an actor who can hold her own within the larger-than-life world of the film.” The official confirmation about the female lead’s casting is yet to be made.
As per reports, Vicky Kaushal’s second collaboration with Maddock Films’ Dinesh Vijan, Mahavatar, is expected to go on the floors in January 2027. He has recently wrapped up his next with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War.
Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Love And War, which also features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in key roles. The film is releasing on January 21, 2027, in theatres. Love And War marks Vicky’s first collaboration with SLB. The first look of his character was released by the makers a few days ago on social media.
As far as his personal life is concerned, Vicky Kaushal was blessed with a baby boy in November 2025. He and his wife, Katrina Kaif, named their son Vihaan. For the unversed, Vicky got married to Katrina in December 2021 in Rajasthan.
