Salman Khan’s war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is still in post-production. The makers have not locked the final cut, so they have not sent the film to the CBFC yet. Composer Ravi Basrur is working on the background score while the team makes more changes to the story.
Salman Khan's much-awaited war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is still in the post-production stage. The film, which has gone through several changes since it was first announced as Battle of Galwan, is yet to lock its final cut, according to a latest report. Composer Ravi Basrur is said to be working on the background score, while the makers are also incorporating further changes into the film. The project will be submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification only after the final version is locked.
According to Variety India, the makers of Maatrubhumi are still working on the final version of the film. The report added that Ravi Basrur was working on the background score at Octavia Studios while changes requested by the team were being incorporated. The film will only be sent to the CBFC after all the final approvals are completed. This means that the release plans will also depend on how quickly the makers manage to lock the final cut and complete the certification process.
Maatrubhumi has undergone several changes since it was originally announced. The makers unveiled the title Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace in March. The film's climax and Salman Khan's character arc have also reportedly been reworked. Recent reports suggested that the changes were made to ensure that the film's final message focused more strongly on peace. The revised version had also reportedly received a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Maatrubhumi was initially scheduled to arrive in theatres on April 17, 2026. However, the film did not release on the announced date as the makers continued to work on its story and overall treatment.
There had been recent reports that the film could be considered for a Diwali or Christmas release this year, with a CBFC screening expected to provide more clarity. However, the latest update has indicated that the final cut is still not locked and there is currently no confirmed release window.
