Jim Carrey married his longtime girlfriend Min Ah in a private Los Angeles ceremony. The 64-year-old actor, who previously said he had no plans to walk down the aisle again, got hitched after dating since 2022. His representative confirmed the news, marking the third marriage for the famous Hollywood star.
Jim Carrey has reportedly tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Min Ah, marking the actor's third marriage years after he insisted that he had no plans to walk down the aisle again. The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind star, 64, recently married Ah in a small and private ceremony in Los Angeles, according to a report by TMZ. Carrey's representative also confirmed the marriage to Entertainment Weekly, although further details about the wedding remain private.
The couple first sparked romance rumours after being photographed together in 2022. They made their first official public appearance as a couple on February 26 at the César Awards in Paris, where Jim Carrey was honoured with an honorary award.
The actor was accompanied at the prestigious event by his adult daughter, Jane, and her teenage son, Jackson. During his acceptance speech, Carrey made a special mention of Ah, whom he affectionately referred to as his "sublime companion."
Speaking in French, Carrey thanked Ah and publicly expressed his love for her as she received applause from the audience. He also acknowledged his daughter and grandson before paying tribute to his late father, Percy Joseph Carrey, crediting him with teaching him the importance of love, generosity and laughter.
Carrey has been married twice previously. He married Melissa Womer in 1987, and the couple welcomed daughter Jane before divorcing in 1995. The actor then married his Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly in 1996. Their marriage, however, lasted less than a year, with the pair separating in 1997.
Over the years, Carrey has also been romantically linked to several high-profile women, including Jenny McCarthy, Renée Zellweger, Linda Ronstadt and January Jones.
His marriage to Ah is particularly notable because Carrey had previously been vocal about not wanting to get married again. In a 2008 interview with Britain's Weekend Magazine, while discussing his relationship with McCarthy, Carrey said he was happy but suggested that marriage was no longer something he wanted to pursue. "If you've done it twice, you really should stop doing it," he had said at the time.
Six years later, Carrey reiterated his position during an appearance on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show. He said he did not see marriage as necessary at that point in his life, while leaving the door open to the possibility that meeting someone special could change his perspective. And it appears that is exactly what happened.
After years of insisting that he would not voluntarily walk down the aisle again, Carrey has now exchanged vows with Ah.
