Fahadh Faasil Explains His Viral Wide-Eyed Stare: Was Watching A Woman Imitate Me

Speaking to Cue Studio, Fahadh Faasil said the viral expression was not directed at the camera. He was focused on a woman performing on stage and imitating his Aavesham character. The actor said he watched her performance for a while before someone filming the event turned the camera towards him.

"To be honest, many people say that there is something special about my eyes. I have never felt that way myself. I never thought that sitting like that at the event would become such great meme material. Nobody knew what I was looking at on the stage that made me sit like that. I was watching a girl on stage imitating me. When I saw her performing on stage in the exact same get-up I had in 'Aavesham', I was genuinely stunned. I watched her for a while, and someone recorded a video of it. The fact that he panned the camera towards my face turned it into meme material. I never expected it to become like that. I enjoy the memes made from it," Fahadh said.

In Aavesham, Fahadh played Ranjith Gangadharan, popularly known as Ranga, an eccentric gangster based in Bengaluru. His distinctive appearance and mannerisms in the film became popular among audiences.
