Ishita Dutta said she was nervous to play Ajay Devgn’s daughter in the Drishyam franchise. The film Drishyam: The Conclusion crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the worldwide box office within ten days. Ishita said, "I was nervous to play his daughter. How would I portray? Would I do a fair job?"
Ishita Dutta is currently riding high on the success of Drishyam: The Conclusion (Drishyam 3). Within ten days of its theatrical run, the movie has surpassed the Rs 400 crore mark at the worldwide box office. It will soon enter the Rs 300 crore club in India. Amid her film's success, Zoom conducted an exclusive interview with Ishita. Apart from talking about her movie's success, the actress reflected on her working equation with co-star Ajay Devgn. While discussing it, Ishita recalled the first time she met Ajay and admitted that she was nervous to play his daughter in the Drishyam franchise.
In an exclusive conversation with us, Ishita said, "I still remember the first time I met Ajay sir. I was overwhelmed because we have seen him (while) growing up. He's such a fabulous actor. I was nervous to play his daughter. (I thought) How would I portray? Would I do a fair job? But then, it was such a smooth journey. He was so nice to me. He said such good words and appreciated my work in the first."
The Drishyam: The Conclusion actress added that his words gave her a lot of confidence. After Drishyam, Ishita got an opportunity to work with Ajay in another movie. Beside knowing him professionally, the actress got to know him personally as well because of her husband Vatsal Sheth.
"We really look upto him and Kajol for any kind of advice. They have always been there. The entire family... they are extremely sweet and I really love them. It's been a good association onscreen and offscreen," she added.
As our conversation continued, Ishita reflected on Drishyam: The Conclusion's audience feedback and box office success. "It feels great. The reaction is so good. People have loved the film so much. It's been five-six days already and the love is just pouring in. I think I can say it for all of us that we are really enjoying this phase. It always feels nice when your film is appreciated, and you are appreciated; not just at the box office but even critically, people have liked it... whether it is the audience, critics or box office numbers. We are very happy," mentioned Ishita.
In Drishyam 3, Ishita is seen as Anju Salgaonkar, the daughter of Vijay Salgaonkar (played by Ajay). Apart from them, the star cast includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj and others. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the crime thriller was released theatrically on October 2.
