Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the crime thriller opened to a thunderous response after its big-screen release. Co-starring Shriya Saran, Tabu and Jaideep Ahlawat, the third installment arrived in cinemas on October 2. It took a bumper box office opening of Rs 62 crore. Talking about its overseas collection, the movie added Rs 20 crore on day three, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 61 crore. Considering it, the Ajay Devgn-starrer minted Rs 272.80 crore. Needless to add, the crime thriller will easily surprass the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
Meanwhile, director Abhishek Pathak reflected on the overwhelming response for his movie. In an official statement, the filmmaker said, "What has really surprised me is how emotionally invested people are, not just in Vijay, but in the entire world of drishyam. You realise that after all these years, these characters have become a part of people’s lives. And as a filmmaker, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing an ending stay with the audience even after they’ve left the theatre."
After concluding its theatrical run, Drishyam: The Conclusion is expected to have its OTT premiere on a leading streaming platform. According to Filmibeat, the crime thriller has locked Netflix as its streaming partner. The previous installments are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Meanwhile, Drishyam: The Conclusion features Ajay as Vijay Salgaonkar, while Jaideep Ahlawat is seen as SP Rajveer Singh Tomar. Besides them, the cast includes Shriya Saran, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Ishita Dutta, and Saurabh Shukla. Tabu plays the role of Meera Deshmukh, Shriya Saran is Nandini Salgaonkar. Rajat Kapoor essays the role of Tabu's on-screen husband Mahesh Deshmukh. Ishita Dutta also reprises the character of Anju and Mrunal Jadhav is back as Anu.
