Dev Sharma and Anjali Arora's Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha received mixed feedback from audiences and critics. Directed by Abhishek Singh, the mythological epic arrived in theatres on September 25. Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha producer on negative campaign

In an interview with India Today, producer Prakash Mahobiya said Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha never got enough time to reach audience. "It was negative marketing throughout. We never got a chance to reach our audience. The ones who watched our film really enjoyed it." The producer further questioned how would audience have an opinion when they never got a chance to see the film.

He further claimed that there may have been paid marketing campaign to spread negative buzz around his mythological epic. "From what we have been told, there are other movies on the same subject coming in, the big-budget film," he added. The first-time producer also alleged that a lot of negative marketing opportunities had been given to YouTubers, influencers and other people.

"They are spreading wrong information and asking people not to watch our film," he claimed. Prakash further told the publication that his movie was announced well in advance before Ranbir's Ramayana. And by the time the Nitesh Tiwari directorial was announced, Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha's shoot had begun and it was ready for release.

As of now, the producer is focusing on the re-release of his mythological epic. "I have no idea how to market a film after making it. We are not afraid of the loss, but we are disappointed that not many people managed to watch it," he said. And that's the reason, Prakash wants to release Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha again in theatres.
