After tickling everyone's funnybones with Chumbak: Part 1, director Aatish Kapadia has returned with a fresh set of eight episodes with a new installment. Chumbak 2 Picks Up From Where season 1 ended

,

With a quick recap of season one, Chumbak 2 kicks off on a promising note as the five families in the neighbourhood come together to solve problems, one step at a time. After Ruhaan serves a 'divorce notice' to his mother Priyanka (Manasi Parekh), Aditya (Sumeet Vyas) alongwith this Chumbak Colony neighbours decides to set up a mock court case at home. Ronit Roy Choudhary (Rohit Roy) is the judge. Mickey (Arjun Bijlani) presents Ruhaan's side, while Aditya acts as his wife Priyanka's lawyer. Side-by-side, the episodes shed light on ladies of Chumbak planning to expose Mickey and his rumoured love affair. Do the neighbours succeed in solving these two problems?

Chumbak 2 Is Light-Hearted, Feel Good Comedy Drama

,

It goes without saying Chumbak 2's magic lies in its writing. Aatish Kapadia, who also serves the show's writer, has done a brilliant job while penning the story. Even the silliest jokes in the show land well and don't feel forced into the narrative. Like part one, the second one keeps the humour alive, leaving no room for boredom. Although there are multiple characters, the transition between different sub plots seems seamless. The makers have beautifully woven multiple storylines into one wholesome package.

,

Scenes featuring Kuku (Deven Bhojani) and Rajni (Neena Gupta) are hilarious and delightful to watch. They continue to be the beating heart of the show even in the second part. In Chumbak 2, Priyanka and Ruhaan's equation goes through a transition and it's simply heartwarming to watch. Having said that, the show can get predictable after a point. At times, the different characters and storylines do feel chaotic and don't work in the show's favour. Despite its few shortcomings, Chumbak 2 doesn't lose its spark and guarantees laughter.

Neena Gupta-Deven Bhojani Shine, Sumeet Vyas Adds Depth

,

When it comes to the star cast performances, Neena Gupta and Deven Bhojani unleash their quirky side while playing Rajni and Kuku. Moments when Deven's Kuku keeps forgetting his ex-partner's name are funny. The second part also explores Neena aka Rajni's meet-cute equation with Rohit Roy's character. Talking about Sumeet Vyas, the actor promises laughter, but also provides depth to the show this time. Manasi Parekh lives upto the chatterbox personality of Priyanka. As far as Helly Shah and Arjun Bijlani are concerned, they remain likeable as Twinkle and Mickey.

,Is Chumbak 2 Worth Watching?,

Chumbak 2 is definitely worth watching. In times when the OTT space is filled with crime thrillers and murder mysteries, the Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia show comes like a breath of fresh air. It promises novelity and nostalgia in equal measure.
