Christopher Nolan's 'Odyssey' is spectacular. It just doesn't get its hero

Christopher Nolan’s film The Odyssey is visually spectacular but fails to capture its hero’s true complexity. Classicist Emily Wilson noted, "Nolan's Odyssey lacks many of the elements that make the poem great." While the movie shows a man returning home after 20 years, it misses the deeper emotional human story.
