Aishwarya Lekshmi has dismissed reports of her casting in Allu Arjun and Atlee's upcoming film Raaka, joking that she hopes someone casts her in it.
Allu Arjun and Atlee's Raaka has been making headlines even though the makers have kept most details about the film under wraps. From its unusual storyline to its reported star cast, there has been plenty of curiosity around the project. Recently, Aishwarya Lekshmi's name also came up in reports linked to the film.
There were reports claiming that Aishwarya had been approached for a role in Raaka. Some even suggested that she would be seen playing a negative character. However, the actor has now cleared the air about the rumours.
Speaking to India Today, Aishwarya said she is not part of the film. She also had a fun response to the reports and said, "No, I am not part of the film. Somebody please cast me in the film."
Meanwhile, there is already a lot of buzz around Raaka, which marks Allu Arjun's first collaboration with filmmaker Atlee. The film is reportedly set across two timelines, with Mrunal Thakur leading the present-day portion.
The Vedic-era portion is said to feature Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Shah Rukh Khan is also expected to make an extended cameo in the film. His portions are reportedly planned to be shot during an international schedule.
According to reports, Deepika plays a pregnant woman trying to survive in the ancient timeline. Her character's story is said to cross paths with Rashmika's, who reportedly plays a guide and protector. Janhvi, meanwhile, is said to play a tribal queen who has an important role in the period setting.
For Deepika, Raaka will be her second film with Atlee after Jawan (2023), which starred Shah Rukh Khan. It will also be her first collaboration with Allu Arjun.
The makers have not revealed much about the plot yet. A recent teaser featured the line, "Beyond what seemed possible. We Dared to Imagine. We Dared to Archive. Raaka: A global triumph (sic)." Earlier, a '37' hint from the film had also left fans guessing about what it could mean.
As for Aishwarya, the actor has a few projects lined up. She will next be seen with Arjun Das in #Love.
