Aamir Khan Denies '3 Idiots' Character Was Based on Sonam Wangchuk

Aamir Khan denied that his character in 3 Idiots was based on activist Sonam Wangchuk. Speaking at a BFI event in London, the actor said, “No, that’s not true, actually. No, no. That is a misconception.” He added that the team did not know Wangchuk when they wrote the film.
