Neetu Kapoor calls out paparazzi over back shots, days after Salman Khan criticised the practice on Bigg Boss 20. Her sharp response has gone viral.
Neetu Kapoor has joined the growing list of actresses who have questioned the paparazzi practice of taking photographs from behind. The veteran actress was recently spotted in Mumbai, where she gave photographers a pointed response after they reportedly asked her to pose with her back towards the cameras.
The brief exchange has once again brought attention to a complaint several female celebrities have raised in recent months, with many publicly objecting to pictures taken from angles they find uncomfortable or intrusive.
Neetu Kapoor Questions Paparazzi Over 'Back' Pictures
In a video from the outing, Neetu was seen leaving an establishment and making her way towards her car when photographers asked her for a picture from the back.
Instead of turning around and posing, she stopped and responded with a sarcastic question.
"Aapko yeh bada accha lagta hai na, 'back'?" Neetu said.
The photographers immediately denied that this was the case. Neetu then got into her car and shut the door, ending the interaction there.
Her reaction was brief, but it echoed concerns that have already been voiced by a number of women in the entertainment industry over the kind of photographs that are often taken and circulated online.
Salman Khan Had Also Spoken About The Issue
Neetu's comment comes after Salman Khan addressed the same subject during a recent episode of Bigg Boss 20.
The actor criticised paparazzi photographers who capture women from uncomfortable angles and later circulate those images on social media.
Salman also brought up the role of viewers who engage with such content online, pointing out that the circulation of these photographs is not limited to the people behind the camera.
His comments added to an ongoing conversation around paparazzi culture and the boundaries celebrities have repeatedly tried to set when being photographed in public.
Several Actresses Have Objected To Similar Photos
Neetu is not the first actress to raise an objection.
Janhvi Kapoor, Neha Bhasin, Neha Dhupia, Ayesha Khan, Rashami Desai, Shanaya Kapoor and Manushi Chhillar are among the celebrities who have previously spoken out against being photographed from angles they found uncomfortable.
Neha Dhupia had confronted photographers directly during an awards event in Mumbai and questioned the practice.
"Yeh badtameezi se backshot kaun leta hai tum logon mein se? Band karo," she told the paparazzi.
Neha later clarified that she was not only speaking about herself. She said she was also referring to women who had repeatedly asked photographers not to take such pictures and had grown tired of having to make the same request again and again.
Neetu's latest reaction now adds another voice to that discussion.
Neetu Kapoor's Recent Work
On the work front, Neetu Kapoor was last seen in Dadi Ki Shaadi.
The film also featured Kapil Sharma and her daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, among others.
