Tamil vocal concert " Tamilum Ambalum" was performed by Hosur C. Mahanya Sri, to the accompaniments of AkshayaHari on the Violin, V Sundareswaran on the Mridangam and V.V. Sabareesh on the Khanjira, on the second day of 52nd Tamil Isai Vizha at Raja Muthiah Mandram.

She commenced invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesa with "Ainthu Karathanai Aanai Mugathanai" and worshipped Goddess Uma/ Parvati through a Varamu Raga tana varnam nambum anbarkkarulum" by Lalgudi Jayaraman.

She then sang "varmamaa enmeedhil" in saveri by Anai Ayya. Questioning the Goddess Dharmasamvardhani, the consort of the presiding deity at Tiruvaiyaru as to why she is being distant or withholding her mercy. Through her unhurried gamakas, she pulled out the microtones of Saveri.

Her next rendition was "enai nee maravade" in amrutavarshini by M. M. Dandapani Desikar on Goddess Meenakshi, who provides melody to her songs and meaningful life to us.

Papanasam Sivan's kriti on Karpagambal of Mylapore was well rendered. The niraval "bhaktha kotigalai padu kakkum...." received appreciation from audience.

An extensive and elaborate RTP in Hindolam for the pallavi "nee varuvai Arulvai meenakshi" evoked deep peace, devotion and contemplative stillness of the Hindolam. The Violinist Akshayahari mirrored the vocalist by playing a complementary echo that sustained the musical momentum. In the Tani that followed both the Mrudangist and Khanjira player displayed the interplay very well.

Mahanya Sri's final pieces were " nenjukku nItiyum" by Subramanya Bharati in Sindu bhairavi, "jagajjanani sukhapani by Ghanam Krishna Aiyyar in ratipatipriya ," Ulundoor Pettai Shanmugam's "Chinnanjiru pen pole" in Sindhu Bhairavi, "enna kavi padinalum" Anayampatti Aadisesha Aiyyar in nIlamani, Devi neeye thunai by Papanasam Sivan in kiravani and a lullaby on Goddess Meenakshi "Anbum Pozhiyum Tamil Mannuku Arasi" were well received by the rasikas.
