
Solar DCR rule takes effect; rooftop installations face higher costs
Rooftop solar installations may cost more from June 1 as the domestic content rule takes effect. Industry estimates suggest costs could rise by ₹4,000-6000 per kilowatt. Alekhya Datta, Director at TERI, said, "a typical 3-kW rooftop solar system using DCR-compliant equipment could cost between ₹1.8 lakh and ₹2.1 lakh." This rule aims to boost India's solar manufacturing.
