UK retail inflation hits two-year high as energy and AI boom drive prices higher

UK retailers raised prices at the fastest annual pace in more than two years in August. The British Retail Consortium said higher energy, commodity and input costs were increasingly feeding through into retail prices. Electronics also got expensive as the AI boom drove up demand for memory and storage components.
