Semicon 2.0: Centre notifies Rs 1.27 lakh crore scheme, high-level chip panel

The central government notified the ₹1,27,500-crore Semicon 2.0 scheme on Monday, August 31. This plan aims to build a full-stack semiconductor ecosystem in India. IT Secretary S Krishnan said, "The objective of the scheme is self reliance and fostering a globally competitive industry." A high-level panel will now identify strategic chips.
