Reliance Industries officials met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday to discuss fresh investments and project expansion. The talks covered six areas, including data centres, AI cloud services, and a food park. Work on a data centre already started at the Silicon Valley Hub in Rajarhat for the state.
A delegation of Reliance Industries officials, including CEOs of various group businesses, met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday to discuss investment opportunities, industrial development and expansion of projects in the state.
A senior bureaucrat at the state secretariat said that the discussions included potential investments in six areas -- data centres and AI cloud services, an international cable landing station, coal gasification, a food park, road infrastructure and a multi-speciality hospital.
"Today, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Shri Suvendu Adhikari held a meeting with senior officials of Reliance Industries at Nabanna," the Chief Minister's Office said in a post on X.
Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Agrawal and several other senior officials were also present at the meeting held at the state secretariat, Nabanna.
"The meeting discussed various important matters concerning investment opportunities in West Bengal, industrial development and the creation of new employment opportunities," the CMO added.
Work on Reliance's data centre has already begun at Silicon Valley Hub in Rajarhat, the bureaucrat said.
"The meeting also discussed the company's possible involvement in an international cable landing station at Digha, a food park in north Bengal and the Deucha-Pachami coal project," he said.
Wednesday's meeting came days after Adhikari held discussions with Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai on September 21.
