Odisha will host the seventh edition of the Odisha Travel Bazaar (OTB) from October 3 to 5, bringing together foreign tour operators from 27 countries and domestic buyers from 32 cities, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Thursday.

Organised by the Department of Tourism in partnership with FICCI, the three-day tourism marketplace will feature more than 92 private exhibitors and facilitate over 6,000 pre-scheduled business meetings.

Parida said the state's tourism strategy seeks to expand Odisha's presence on the global tourism map while ensuring greater economic benefits for local communities and small businesses.

"Our tagline is 'Think India, Think Odisha'," she said, highlighting the state's policies on adventure tourism, homestays and hospitality.

She said tourism development should benefit communities beyond hotels and resorts, with Odisha's culture, traditions and local experiences forming a key part of the visitor experience.

Eight familiarisation (FAM) tours will be organised before and after the event, taking tour operators, buyers, media representatives and influencers to destinations showcasing Odisha's heritage, spirituality, wildlife, tribal traditions, coastline and experiential tourism.

Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar will also participate in an experience-sharing session aimed at promoting culinary tourism.

Tourism Commissioner-cum-Secretary Balwant Singh, along with senior officials and representatives of tourism and hospitality associations, was also present.
