Navi Mumbai-based OZU, founded in 2021, is building a platform to link physical goods delivery with instant digital payments. By using WhatsApp-native infrastructure, the company ensures money moves as soon as deliveries get verified. Founder Parmvir Maniktala said, "IDFC FIRST Bank has been a valuable partner in our growth journey."

India's B2B economy moves in an intricate choreography of goods, traders, invoices and credit. Yet, for all the sophistication of the physical supply chain, what remains stubbornly old-fashioned is the moment when money changes hands. OZU was born to resolve this contradiction. Founded in 2021 in Navi Mumbai, the company is building a transaction platform for physical commerce in which the movement of goods and the movement of money are no longer separate processes. The core proposition is to ensure that when a delivery is verified, payment should happen too. Two Journeys, One Transaction For a trader in Vashi, a transaction doesn't end when the goods arrive. The delivery may be complete, but payment can remain suspended for weeks. The trader waits for the buyer. The transporter waits for the trader. The driver waits for the transporter. Everyone has performed their part, but nobody has been paid. OZU's answer is to make the delivery itself a trigger for the payment. Its WhatsApp-native infrastructure connects the physical act of the delivery with the digital process of the transaction. When the goods arrive, verified by GPS and a delivery OTP, the money moves in the same instant. No follow-ups, no "payment next week", as Parmvir Maniktala, Founder & CEO of OZU, puts it. Trust With a Timestamp The larger ambition goes beyond faster payouts. Indian trade has always depended heavily on trust. A supplier may extend credit to a buyer simply because the relationship feels reliable. But much of that trust remains undocumented. OZU wants to turn physical transactions into evidence of trust. Every verified delivery creates a record. Over time, those individual events become a measurable history of commercial behaviour. This is the thinking behind the OZU Trade Score, which the company is developing as a fulfilment-based signal for B2B trade credit. It's an ambition Parmvir Maniktala describes as a "Supply Chain CIBIL for India's unsecured trade credit." A Partner That Makes It Possible "IDFC FIRST Bank has been a valuable partner in our growth journey, providing both the banking infrastructure and ecosystem access needed to scale our platform," says Parmvir Maniktala, Founder & CEO, OZU. The Future Is Here OZU started with the practical problem of getting people paid when the work is done. But beneath that lies a more ambitious proposition; that every verified delivery can become a building block of trust. In a country where many businesses still conduct commerce through informal channels, it could prove to be more transformative than simply making logistics faster. Such incremental innovations are at the heart of India's rise as an economic superpower. Nurturing these innovations is the main objective of Leap To Unicorn, a first-of-its-kind startup mentoring and funding program, created by IDFC FIRST Bank, in association with Moneycontrol. Now in its fourth season, the program is founded on an eternal truth that the story of OZU demonstrates - the biggest transformations begin with small ideas brave enough to challenge the way things are done.
