August 25 marks the anniversary of the 2017 genocidal campaign by the Myanmar military against the Rohingya. Many families fled as violence continued. Today, the Arakan Army controls Rakhine state, but reports showed that brutality and persecution remain. The international community still falls short in its efforts to protect them.
