Spot a nerve agent in 13 secs

Researchers at the CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute in Chennai developed a nanomaterial that detects and neutralises nerve agents within 13 seconds. This cerium-based nanozyme shows a clear orange-brown colour when it finds toxic residues. "This nanozyme seamlessly arrests products with its binding to Ce clusters," said author Haldum Mangalasana.
