Plea in Supreme Court flags sale of EPFO, ITR data for as little as Rs 100

The Supreme Court on August 24 took note of a plea alleging that private organisations were selling ITR and EPFO data for as little as Rs 100. The Bench indicated that the government could be asked to consider the issue within a time-bound period to protect citizens’ sensitive personal records.
