India Cuts The Cord On Imports, Test-Fires Fully Indigenous AK-203 "Sher"

Amethi's Korwa Ordnance Factory produced an AK-203 rifle with all Indian components named "Sher". The rifle passed firing trials at the Korwa facility. Major General SK Sharma said, "The achievement involved localising every component of the rifle rather than simply assembling it in India." This marks a major defence milestone.
